Aggie Village, located in the the City of Davis, is a progressive development that illustrates good design, architecture, planting, and urban forestry. This development has narrow streets, arctechual variety, open space, and street trees. The development was built around 1997.

The street trees are planted one per house except for the corner homes. Their spacing ranges from 25' to 45'. In this development the garages are set back and the front yards are small with large parkways. The streets are narrow and the traffic is slow.

The street trees are planted 25' from all corners. The trees planted are large growing and will provide a great deal of shade. The homes in the photo to the left are duplexes that fit well with the single family dwellings.

Back houses or "mother in-law cottages" were constructed with the single family homes and front a pedestrian alley.

In Davis and in many other cities, trees are planted along transportation corridor.
